Transforming the digital experience at a major airport in the Middle East

A leading international hub in the Middle East was preparing to open a 700,000 sqm flagship terminal that would redefine how tens of millions of passengers travel each year. But a world-class terminal required a world-class digital experience. Delivering it presented a critical challenge.

The challenge

With traveler expectations rising and global competition intensifying, the airport needed to offer real-time navigation, live updates, and seamless access to airport services. Staff and contractors also required dependable digital tools to operate efficiently in a fast-moving environment. Without a cohesive mobile infrastructure, the airport risked friction across both the passenger journey and internal operations.

Leadership recognized that digital experience would be central to operational readiness, customer satisfaction, and commercial performance, and partnered with G10X to bring this vision to life.

We designed and delivered a connected mobile ecosystem that would enhance the airport journey for both travelers and employees.

Building a seamless end-to-end travel experience

We partnered with Zayed International Airport to design and deliver a connected mobile ecosystem that would enhance the airport journey for both travelers and employees. The solution included three core components:

Guest app

Supports passengers with AR-based indoor navigation, real-time flight updates, prayer time notifications, terminal maps, and convenient access to essential airport services.

Team app

Provides staff and contractors with secure internal navigation, streamlined coordination tools, and features that enhance operational readiness across the terminal.

Wi-Fi landing page

Acts as a seamless digital entry point, giving travelers instant access to airport information, service updates, and retail engagement as soon as they connect.

How we delivered

To ensure fast deployment and platform consistency, both mobile apps were built using Flutter for cross-platform compatibility across iOS and Android. The Wi-Fi landing page was developed using React and Node.js, hosted on Azure Cloud for scalability and resilience.

Firebase Analytics enabled the airport to track user behavior and optimize features. The project followed an agile delivery model, allowing for rapid iteration and continuous stakeholder feedback throughout development.

Results

The mobile ecosystem delivered by G10X helped the airport set a new benchmark for passenger experience and digital operations. It enabled smoother navigation, increased mobile engagement, and improved operational performance across the terminal. Just months after launch, the platform was already transforming the day-to-day experience for both travelers and staff.
